Gas Prices

As you are well aware gas prices are sky high. Fuel efficiency is huge right now. You don't see those kids at every stop light squealing tires like back in the 90's. Why? Can't afford to any more. Before you didn't want to have to replace your tires... now you can't afford to refuel! Starting and stopping or "in town driving" also leads to poor gas mileage. You've seen how new cars have two estimated MPG (miles per gallon). Highway and Town. Town is always lower. So what can be done to help with your in town commutes. Time stop lights.

Maybe you get upset because you hit every red. But it does not have to be like that. Waving at them or shouting some magical phrase won't make them turn green. But I do know what makes them turn red. Cross walks. Something my dad taught me is to watch the cross walk signs. If they are green for the pedestrian they will stay green for the drivers. If they are blinking red that means your time may be limited. In fact some even count down for the pedestrians with big red numbers. Use this is a count down to get through the light. Finally a solid red cross walk means at any time that light could turn red. So the trick is to be easy on the gas pedal when you see a solid red cross walk from afar. Just because the light is green doesn't mean it'll stay that way. On the flip when you see that baby blinking... gun it. Ideally this may help you save a buck or two on gas. If you do get stuck at a light you thought you could make don't worry, God knew you were going to miss it so take that time to thank Him for the blessings. He may not have gotten your through that yellow but He did get you this far!
